Stanton 3-1 in last four matches

The Stanton Mustangs are 3-1 in their last three matches, having beat Pierce 2-1 and Randolph 2-0 at the Randolph Triangular last Tuesday before beating Logan View 2-0 and losing 2-1 to North Bend Central at the Logan View Triangular this past Tuesday.

Stanton downed the Cardinals 25-13 in set one and 25-21 in set two.

Hilary Huss recorded 11 kills, 9 digs, and 15 set assists while Bree Burtwhistle totaled 8 kills, 18 digs, and 8 set assists. MacKenzie Brandl notched 16 digs while Jessie Brandl added 11.

The Mustangs took set one from the Bluejays 25-16, and won set three 25-18 after losing set two 25-23.

Huss registered 14 kills, 15 digs, and 15 set assists while Jessie Brandl totaled 9 kills. Burtwhistle added 7 kills, 9 digs, and 13 set assists. MacKenzie Brandl registered 27 digs while Leah Arens had 8.

Stanton defeated the Raiders 25-6 in set one and 25-16 in set two.

Burtwhistle and Jessie Brandl recorded 9 kills apiece while MacKenzie Brandl notched 15 digs. Huss added 12 digs and 17 set assists while Jessie Brandl posted 10 digs. Burtwhistle compiled 8 set assists.

The Mustangs took set two from the Tigers 25-18, but North Bend Central won set one 27-25 and set three 25-23.

Huss totaled 13 kills, 12 digs, and 19 set assists. Jessie Brandl recorded 9 kills and 15 digs while Burtwhistle recorded 7 kills and 20 set assists. MacKenzie Brandl registered 30 digs.

Stanton has continued to play excellent volleyball despite the loss to the Tigers. The loss to North Bend Central is understandable, and it's not a loss that should really bother the Mustangs.

Stanton (28-2) rounds out the regular season at Twin River (6-22) on Thursday.

These two teams met on September 5th at the Shamrock Invite with the Mustangs winning 2-0.

The Titans lost 3-0 at home to Wisner-Pilger last Tuesday, and are just 3-13 in their last 16 matches.

This is a match Stanton should not only win, but dominate.

I look for the Mustangs to put the North Bend Central loss behind them, and refocus themselves on Twin River.

I think Stanton will go in there and come away with a 3-0 victory.

It takes a lot to beat this team, and the Tigers figured out how. I'm sure the Mustangs will be hungry and anxious to get back out on the court given the fact they lost to North Bend Central.

It's good that Stanton has this match before sub districts. That way the Mustangs aren't heading into the postseason with almost a week to think about a loss.

Stanton can get back on the winning track and put the loss behind them.

There's absolutely no reason to think the Mustangs won't dominate on Thursday. The Titans have struggled all season long, and this should be a relatively easy win for Stanton.

The Mustangs have to be ready to play and can't dwell on the loss to the Tigers though. Stanton isn't used to losing a whole lot so it will be interesting to see how they bounce back.
