Bancroft-Rosalie falls to Lyons-Decatur Northeast and Pender

The Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers have dropped their last two matches, falling 3-0 to Lyons-Decatur Northeast on the road Thursday, and 3-1 to Pender on the road Monday.

The Cougars took sets one and two from Bancroft-Rosalie 25-19. Lyons-Decatur Northeast won set three 25-15.

The Pendragons took set one from the Panthers 26-24. Bancroft-Rosalie won set two 25-13, but lost sets three and four 25-21 and 25-22.

Tess Nottleman had 8 kills while Vicki Gatzmeyer totaled 7. Kassidi Browning recorded 20 set assists while Lauren Zuhlke totaled 11.

The Panthers have certainly struggled as of late. Bancroft-Rosalie desperately needs to get back on track prior to sub districts.

The Panthers (10-13) take on Tekamah-Herman (11-10) in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament on Thursday in Stanton.

The Tigers fell 3-0 at Wisner-Pilger last time out.

Tekamah-Herman has had a nice season, but they are not leaps and bounds ahead of Bancroft-Rosalie. Yes the Tigers are a C-1 school and the Panthers are D-2, but this is an 8/9 seed match up, and anything can happen.

Bancroft-Rosalie has to regroup and forget about what has taken place as of late.

The Panthers have to be energized, focus, and ready to play from the start on Thursday.

This is an important tournament for Bancroft-Rosalie in terms of getting back on track.

The Panthers need to have a good showing to be where they want to be prior to sub districts.

This is such an important first match for both teams, and I wouldn't be surprised if it went the distance.

I have a feeling Bancroft-Rosalie is going to step up their game and play better volleyball than they have lately.

The winner gets either Stanton or Logan View so the opportunity to potentially play the Mustangs is something the Panthers have to look forward to.

Either way Bancroft-Rosalie plays two matches on Thursday so I look for the Panthers to do no worse than 1-1.
