Scribner-Snyder tops Logan View, loses to Wisner-Pilger

The Scribner-Snyder Trojans went 1-1 on Thursday at the Wisner-Pilger Triangular, defeating Logan View 2-0, but losing 2-0 to the host Gators.

Wisner-Pilger took set one 25-11, and won set two 25-13.

The Trojans took set one from the Raiders 25-21, and won set two 25-19.

Savanah Miller finished with 12 kills while Kaylee Boyle registered 16 digs.

Scribner-Snyder had a difficult time with the Gators understandably, but did well in beating Logan View.

The Trojans (4-24) round out the regular season on Tuesday against Weeping Water and Omaha Christian Academy (5-14) at the Omaha Christian Academy Triangular.

The Indians lost 2-0 to David City, but beat Boys Town 2-0 at the Weeping Water Round Robin on Saturday.

The Eagles downed Cornerstone Christian 2-0 in the Frontier Conference Tournament last week after losing 3-1 to Boys Town, also in the Frontier Conference Tournament.

I think Scribner-Snyder has a chance to go at least 1-1, maybe 2-0 in this triangular.

Neither team has played particularly well this season although Weeping Water is a C-2 school so playing up a couple of classes always makes things more difficult for the smaller school.

These will be good tests and matches for the Trojans I feel.

Both matches should help prepare Scribner-Snyder for sub district play, which begins next week.

I look for the Trojans to give both teams all they can handle. I definitely think Scribner-Snyder will beat Omaha Christian Academy, and the match with the Indians is a toss up, in my opinion.

You want to be playing your best volleyball and create as much momentum as possible heading into sub districts, and the Trojans have a chance to do both things on Tuesday.

These are the final matches of the regular season, and the time to play good volleyball is now. Scribner-Snyder has to build off the win over Logan View, and compete at a high level against both the Indians and Eagles.
