The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays won all three matches they played last week, downing Homer 3-0 on the road last Monday, Bishop Neumann 3-2 on the road last Tuesday, and Hartington Cedar Catholic 3-1 on the road Thursday.
GACC downed the Knights 25-7 in set one, 25-18 in set two, and 25-19 in set three.
Maddie Knobbe had a match-high 9 kills while Katie Steuter and Morgan Bracht notched 8 apiece. Breanne Kreikemeier added 7 kills and 9 digs. Bracht posted 19 digs while Steuter and Kate Knobbe totaled 12 and 11, respectively. Sara Wordekemper dished out 11 set assists while Kali Stratman registered 10.
The Bluejays lost set one to the Cavaliers 25-18, won set two 25-21, lost set three 25-22, but came back to win sets four and five 25-21 and 15-9.

GACC took set one from the Trojans 25-18. The Bluejays won set two 25-10 before losing set three 25-18. GACC bounced back to win set four 25-22.
Maddie Knobbe led the way with 15 kills while Kreikemeier posted 14 kills and 16 digs. Bracht notched 11 kills and 16 digs. Steuter added 23 digs with Kate Knobbe coming in with 15. Stratman totaled 11 digs and 24 set assists while Arduser registered 7 digs. Wordekemper finished with 21 set assists.
It was a good week for the Bluejays. GACC was challenged, but stepped things up and found a way to win each time out. Hats off to the Bluejays for a job well done.
GACC takes part in the Lutheran High Northeast Tourney on Thursday.
Included in that is the host Eagles and Wisner-Pilger.
The Gators handed the Bluejays a loss on September 5th, winning 2-1.
GACC wants to do well in this tournament, and that includes getting revenge on Wisner-Pilger.
I'm sure the Bluejays would love to defeat the Gators this time around, and I think they are very capable of doing it.
GACC is playing as well as anyone right now, and I look for the Bluejays to have a good showing on Thursday.
GACC will be tested, that's for sure. The Bluejays are going to have to bring their "A" game to come out on top in every match.
GACC's top performers have to continue to put up big numbers for the Bluejays to be successful. GACC has to execute the way they did last week to come out on top in each match on Thursday.
I don't think there's any doubt the Bluejays can go 3-0, but it's going to take a lot of hard work on their part.
GACC has to come ready to play, and must bring it in every set of every match.
Every play, every point is critical and the Bluejays must treat every point with importance. GACC should get excited when they make a big play, but be ready to move on to the next point after celebrating in a huddle for a second. At the same time, the Bluejays have to let negative plays go, and move on to the next point.
