Wisner-Pilger sweeps Logan View and Scribner-Snyder
The Wisner-Pilger Gators won twice on Thursday, defeating Logan View and Scribner-Snyder 2-0 in their home triangular.
Wisner-Pilger took set one from the Raiders 25-8, and won set two 25-7.
Tessa Ruskamp totaled 9 kills while Sydney Bradfield recorded 7 ace serves. Sydney Williams notched 11 set assists.
The Gators won set one against the Trojans 25-11, and took set two 25-13.
Bradfield registered 11 kills while Bailey Batenhorst had 8. Williams posted 11 set assists.
Wisner-Pilger played masterful volleyball on Tuesday, and did a great job taking care of business against both teams.
The Gators (24-6) host Oakland-Craig (22-7) on Tuesday in their regular season finale.
The Knights swept Pender 3-0 at home on Thursday.
This is a preview of what is to come in sub districts between these two teams.
These two teams will meet in sub districts next week so while this match matters, next week is when it really counts.
It's not going to hurt Wisner-Pilger a whole lot if they lose this match.
It would not be good from the standpoint of the seniors losing their final home match and the team's confidence heading into the postseason, but a loss could definitely add fuel to the fire for the Gators.
I'm not suggesting Wisner-Pilger go out there and try to lose, not saying that at all. But what I am trying to say is it's going to be tough for the same team to win both matches.
It can certainly be done, but I think the team that wins on Thursday could very well lose next week.
I could be wrong, but that's just what I think.
Both teams have played well down the stretch, and that should make for two very intriguing match ups on Tuesday and next week.
Tuesday's match can be heard on 107.9 the Bull beginning at 7:15 p.m.
