Bancroft-Rosalie drops match to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family

The Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers lost their only match last week, falling 3-0 at home to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs won set one 25-20, and took sets two and three 25-13 and 25-18.

Lauren Zuhlke notched 8 set assists for Bancroft-Rosalie.

The Panthers played well in set one, but the other two sets were not as good for Bancroft-Rosalie. Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family is a really good team though so the loss is not surprising to me.

The Panthers (12-16) host Omaha Nation (11-12) on Monday in the regular season finale.

The Chiefs lost 3-0 to Walthill on Thursday after beating Marty Indian, SD 3-0 and losing 3-0 to Gayville-Volin, SD 3-0 on Tuesday.

I think Bancroft-Rosalie is in a good position to pick up a win.

I don't feel Omaha Nation is as good as their record. The Chiefs have played some less than stellar teams, and have beat up on some easy opponents.

This is a match the Panthers must have though. Bancroft-Rosalie doesn't want to lose their final match of the regular season. The Panthers need this one to gain confidence heading into the postseason.

If Bancroft-Rosalie loses their confidence will be low I'm afraid.

There are a lot of seniors on this team, and I'm sure they would like to go out as winners at home.

This is also the final regular season match for the Panthers as Bancroft-Rosalie as they will be co-oping with Lyons-Decatur Northeast next season.

I'm sure it would be a special feeling for these players, coaches, fans, and the communities of Bancroft and Rosalie to pick up a win.

It will be interesting to see if the Panthers can get the job done.
