West Point-Beemer beats Boone Central/Newman Grove

The West Point-Beemer Cadets downed Boone Central/Newman Grove 3-1 at home on Tuesday.

West Point-Beemer won set one 25-23 and set two 25-14. The Cardinals took set three 25-14, but the Cadets bounced back to take the fourth set 25-23.

West Point-Beemer played a great match against Boone Central/Newman Grove. The Cadets came out and took care of business from the start, and showed they were worthy of the victory.

West Point-Beemer (13-13) hosts Howells-Dodge (19-8) and Pender in a triangular on Tuesday.

The Jaguars beat North Bend Central 3-2 at home on Tuesday of last week and knocked off Tekamah-Herman 3-0 at home on Thursday.

The Pendragons were in action on Monday against Clarkson/Leigh on the road.

The Cadets have an excellent chance in front of them.

Two wins could potentially get West Point-Beemer the 3rd seed in sub districts. By being the 3 seed the Cadets would avoid having to play the play-in game against Madison.

Howells-Dodge has been on a roll, and it will be very difficult to beat them. Pender should be a win, but West Point-Beemer can't be looking forward to just the match with the Jaguars.

The Cadets really need to play at a high level against both teams.

West Point-Beemer seems to play well at home so that should be in their favor. The Jaguars don't play as well away from home so things could be mighty interesting between Howells-Dodge and the Cadets.

If West Point-Beemer plays the way they did at home against Norfolk Catholic and against Boone Central/Newman Grove, they should stand a good chance to win both matches on Tuesday.

It won't be easy though. The Cadets are going to have to earn it against both teams.

These matches are a big deal in terms of gaining confidence and momentum for the postseason. It's also the last time these seniors will play volleyball on their home floor so I'm sure West Point-Beemer's seniors would like to go out in style.
