Oakland-Craig goes 2-2 in East Husker Conference Tournament; defeats Clarkson/Leigh

The Oakland-Craig Knights are 3-2 in their last five matches as they defeated Clarkson/Leigh 3-0 on the road Tuesday after beating West Point-Beemer 2-0 and losing to Tekamah-Herman 2-1 on Saturday at the East Husker Conference Tournament. The Knights downed Pender 2-0 and fell 2-0 to Howells-Dodge on Thursday, also at the East Husker Conference Tournament.

Oakland-Craig defeated the Pendragons 25-19 in set one, and 25-14 in set two.

The Jaguars topped the Knights 27-25 in sets one and two.

Oakland-Craig downed the Tigers 25-20 in set one, but lost sets two and three 25-23 and 25-17.

The Knights defeated the Cadets 27-25 in set one, and 25-19 in set two.

Oakland-Craig took care of the Patriots in set one 25-12. The Knights won set two 25-14, and set three 25-15.

Oakland-Craig played at a very high level on Tuesday. The Knights appear to have picked things up following the setbacks to Howells-Dodge and Tekamah-Herman.

Oakland-Craig (21-7) hosts Pender (7-18) on Thursday.

The Pendragons lost 3-0 at home to Lyons-Decatur Northeast on Tuesday, and have struggled for much of this season.

This should be a 3-0 sweep for the Knights, but Oakland-Craig can't afford to take Pender lightly.

The Knights need to come out and establish themselves early. Oakland-Craig needs to put forth a great effort to come away with the win.

This is an important match for reasons other than the match itself.

The Knights need to be playing their best volleyball of the season, and this is one of Oakland-Craig's final two regular season matches.

The thing the Knights can't afford to do is look ahead to next week's match at Wisner-Pilger.

Thursday's match is as important as any Oakland-Craig has had this season, and the Knights' play needs to reflect that.

This needs to be a flawless match for Oakland-Craig. The Knights need to play as well as possible heading into the postseason.

The biggest thing for Oakland-Craig is play at a high level. The Knights need to do more than just win this match, they need to win it in impressive fashion.

Anything less than a sweep should be considered a disappointment, in my opinion.
