GACC played about as well as they could have hoped for last week. The Bluejays avenged their only loss of the season by beating Wisner-Pilger, and had no trouble beating the three other teams they played.
GACC (16-1) takes on Pierce (12-8) at home on Tuesday.
Pierce swept O'Neill 3-0 at home on Thursday after beating Wayne 2-1 and losing to Boone Central/Newman Grove 2-0 at the Wayne Triangular on Tuesday.
Pierce has beaten a lot of good teams, but has stumbled against a couple of teams they shouldn't of lost to.
The outcome of this match could be determined upon which Pierce team shows up.
You know what you're going to get out of GACC, but Pierce is kind of like Jekyll and Hyde when it comes to consistency.
This is an important week for GACC. They have Pierce on Tuesday and Crofton at home on Thursday before taking part in the Omaha South Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
The Bluejays will definitely see some good competition this week, which should help prepare them for sub districts, districts, and state if they get that far.
It's getting down to crunch time, and GACC has to continue to play well just like they have all season.
The Bluejays have shown so much resolve this season. GACC has come back time and time again after being down or when things have been tied. This week's matches will test the Bluejays' physical and mental toughness. It's a big week for GACC in terms of finding out where they stand among the state's best.
