Pender 2-2 over last four matches

The Pender Pendragons are playing .500 volleyball between this week and last week as they beat Scribner-Snyder 3-0 on the road last Monday, lost 3-0 at Tekamah-Herman last Tuesday, beat Bancroft-Rosalie 3-1 at home this past Monday, and lost 3-0 at home to Homer this past Tuesday.

Pender defeated the Trojans 25-10 in set one, 25-16 in set two, and 26-24 in set three.

The Pendragons fell 25-21 in sets one and two to the Tigers, and lost set three 25-11.

Pender beat the Panthers 26-24 in the first set, dropped the second set 25-13, won the third set 25-21, and took the fourth set 25-22.

The Knights downed the Pendragons 26-24 in set one, 25-15 in set two, and 25-21 in set three.

Pender has played decent volleyball lately, but sort of struggled in their two losses.

The Pendragons (5-15) battle Oakland-Craig (18-5) in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament on Thursday in Oakland.

Oakland-Craig downed Fremont Bergan and Logan View 2-0 at the Archbishop Bergan Triangular on Tuesday.

Oakland-Craig is on a roll lately as the Knights have won seven in a row.

I think this is a match between two teams who are playing some of their best volleyball of the season.

I look for things to be tight and competitive throughout.

I don't know if Pender will win, but I think the Pendragons are capable of making things interesting.

I definitely think the majority if not all of the sets will be close. Pender has lost close in sets in their last two losses, and I think the Pendragons have what it takes to give Oakland-Craig all they can handle.

It's possible the Knights could be looking forward to a match with Howells-Dodge should the Jaguars beat Twin River in the first game.

Oakland-Craig should win, but you never know. Don't count out Pender.
