Winnebago falls to Whiting, IA, beats Omaha Christian Academy
The Winnebago Indians fell 2-0 to Whiting, IA at the Whiting Triangular on Tuesday before beating Omaha Christian Academy 3-1 at home on Thursday.
Winnebago took sets one and two from Omaha Christian Academy, winning set one 25-15 and set two 25-23. The Eagles won set three 25-19 before the Indians closed out the match with a 25-9 set four win.
Winnebago definitely didn't play up to their capability against Whiting, but the Indians played well against Omaha Christian Academy, and earned the impressive win.
Winnebago (7-14) hosts Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (3-19) on Thursday.
The Bears won 3-2 at Bloomfield on Thursday after losing 3-0 to Hartington-Newcastle on Tuesday.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has struggled this year for the most part, but they are still going to be tough for the Indians to beat, in my opinion.
Winnebago has some disappointing losses so far this season, and this could easily be another one if the Indians don't step up and perform well.
Winnebago has to step and rise up against the Bears. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will no doubt come into this match with some momentum given the fact they downed the Bees on Thursday.
However, the Indians should also come in with some confidence and momentum given the fact they handled the Eagles on Thursday.
This could be a very interesting match I think. I believe Winnebago has what it takes to win, but I could see the Indians losing as well.
There's a lot that can happen in this match, and I could see it going five sets with either team winning, or it being a sweep either way.
It all comes down to execution for Winnebago. The Indians have to perform at a high level if they want to knock off the Bears.
This is a big match for Winnebago as it is their only match of the week. It would be much better for momentum purposes to win rather than lose this week.
