West Point-Beemer 3-2 in last five matches
The West Point-Beemer Cadets are 3-2 over their last five matches as they beat O'Neill and Allen 2-0 at the Wisner-Pilger October Classic on Saturday, and lost 2-0 to Norfolk Catholic, also on Saturday.
West Point-Beemer beat Scribner-Snyder 2-0, but lost 2-1 to Stanton at the Stanton Triangular on Tuesday.
The Knights took set one from the Cadets 25-16, and won set two 27-25.
West Point-Beemer defeated Allen 25-17 in set one, and 25-12 in set two.
The Cadets downed O'Neill 25-10 in the opening set, and 25-11 in the second set.
West Point-Beemer took care of the Trojans 25-23 in set one, and 25-16 in set two.
The Mustangs nabbed set one from the Cadets 25-17. West Point-Beemer bounced back to win set two 25-22, but lost set three 25-14.
The Cadets did a good job taking Stanton to a third set. And other than the Norfolk Catholic match, West Point-Beemer is playing well right now.
The Cadets (11-10) take on Lyons-Decatur Northeast (11-14) on Thursday in North Bend in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament.
The Cougars lost 3-0 at home to North Bend Central on Tuesday.
The two teams played in the season opener in Lyons on September 3rd with West Point-Beemer winning 3-2.
I would say both teams have gotten better since then, and I'm willing to bet this is going to be a pretty entertaining match.
The Cadets have to bring their "A" game and slow down Kelly Wakeley. She did a fair amount of damage against North Bend Central on Tuesday, and is a force to be reckoned with.
At the same time, West Point-Beemer has Amanda Hansen, Jade Duhsmann, Taylor Weddle, and others.
I feel like these two teams are pretty evenly matched. It should make for an entertaining match.
The winner most likely gets North Bend Central so an opportunity to upset the Tigers on their home floor has to excite the Cadets.
West Point-Beemer needs to continue to play well and step up their game to have success in this tournament.
The match begins at 4:30 p.m.
