West Point-Beemer wins final two regular season matches
The West Point-Beemer Cadets won twice on Tuesday in their final home matches of the regular season, defeating Pender and Howells-Dodge 2-0 at their home triangular.
West Point-Beemer defeated the Jaguars 25-22 in set one and 25-21 in set two.
The Cadets took set one from the Pendragons 25-21, and earned a 25-15 set two win.
West Point-Beemer did exactly what they needed to do to gain momentum and confidence for sub districts.
The Cadets (15-13) battle Wayne (18-12) on Monday in the C1-7 sub district at Norfolk High.
The two teams met once in the regular season with the Blue Devils winning 2-0 on West Point-Beemer's home floor.
I don't think the Cadets played very good volleyball in that match, and I look for West Point-Beemer to come out and put up a much better fight against Wayne this time around.
There are some talented seniors on this team, and I look for players like Amanda Hansen, Taylor Weddle, and Jade Duhsmann to step up and perform for the Cadets when it matters most.
This is it for West Point-Beemer. The Cadets' season is on the line Monday night.
West Point-Beemer has to treat every set and every point with a lot of importance.
The Cadets have to make the hustle plays necessary to come out on top. West Point-Beemer has to make the Blue Devils earn their points, and make sure they are doing everything in their power to win.
This is not an easy sub district by any means. However, the Cadets have to be feeling pretty optimistic about their chances. I think any of the top four seeds can take this sub district and move on to a district final.
West Point-Beemer and Wayne are set to square off at 6:15.
