Oakland-Craig falls to Wisner-Pilger in Sub Districts

The Oakland-Craig Knights saw their year come to an end last Monday night as they lost 3-2 to Wisner-Pilger in Sub District C2-3 action at Pender.

The Knights took set one from the Gators 27-25. Wisner-Pilger rebounded to win set two 25-14 and set three 28-26. Oakland-Craig won set four 25-22 before the Gators prevailed in set five 18-16.

It was a very good season in many ways for the Knights. Oakland-Craig did a lot of nice things in going 22-9.

The Knights say goodbye to Olivia Bures, Brynn Charling, Paige Stammert, and Emma Reinert.

These four seniors will be missed, there's no doubt about it. Their contributions to Oakland-Craig volleyball will be remembered by many for a long time I am certain.

The Knights had a very good 2015 season, but they have to be hungry and ready for more in 2016.

Oakland-Craig has to get better in the offseason, whether that's playing the game of volleyball, getting after things in the weight room, or working on drills and conditioning at open gyms and team camps.

There's a lot of growth and maturity for this team to do in a year's time, and I look for the Knights to come back stronger than ever in 2016.

I think this program is in the middle stages of how great they can be. Oakland-Craig has had successful back-to-back seasons, and I look for the Knights to be even better in 2016.

Oakland-Craig made a lot of strides from 2014 to 2015, going from 20-14 to 22-9.

The Knights did a good job cutting down on their loss total from a year ago, and picking up more wins.

Oakland-Craig has to learn how to handle success though. The Knights have to work just as hard if not harder than they did last offseason to be even better next year.

There's a lot of time between now and the start of next fall so plenty of time to improve if you are the Oakland-Craig Knights.
