West Point-Beemer falls to Wayne in Sub Districts
The West Point-Beemer Cadets fell 3-0 to Wayne in the C1-7 Sub District at Norfolk High last Monday.
The Blue Devils won set one 25-15, set two 25-17, and set three 25-22.
I thought West Point-Beemer would do better than they did against Wayne. I guess it just wasn't meant to be for the Cadets on this night.
West Point-Beemer ends the 2015 season with a 15-14 record.
The Cadets had a similar season this year compared to last year, although West Point-Beemer had a winning record this year.
The Cadets graduate Taylor Weddle, Amanda Hansen, Jade Duhsmann, and Madison Voelker.
These four meant a lot to West Point-Beemer Volleyball this year and in years past.
The Cadets return Katie Pilakowski, Nicole Mitzel, Brittney Hinkel, Makenna Weddle, Leigh Jahnke, Bethany Anderson, and others.
The future of West Point-Beemer Volleyball looks good, although the loss of the four seniors will definitely be felt in the future.
This year's team was very up and down. The Cadets played well at times, but struggled at others. The postseason loss for West Point-Beemer sort of summed up their inconsistencies this year.
I know a lot of these girls are looking forward to basketball, and they should be, but after basketball is over these girls need to devote proper time to volleyball.
Volleyball is just as important as basketball, and next year's team has to become more consistent if they want to win more.
I think the Cadets can be successful next year, but it's going to take a lot of hard work. West Point-Beemer can't just show up next fall and expect to win. The Cadets have to work their tails off in the offseason.
