Kind of some disappointing play in the losses you could say, but some good things in the wins too.
The Cadets (8-14) host Norfolk Catholic (10-3) Thursday night.
The Knights won 2-0 over Lutheran High Northeast and Crofton at the Lutheran High Northeast Triangular Tuesday night.
This figures to be a challenging match for West Point-Beemer for sure.
The Cadets have done well against and beaten the teams they're supposed to, but West Point-Beemer has really struggled against top teams.
Norfolk Catholic is a top team, and a team the Cadets have a chance to turn their season around against.
If I recall, West Point-Beemer was a heavy favorite going into last year's match in Norfolk and the Knights swept it 3-0 so it just goes to show that anything can happen.
The Cadets are definitely more than capable of playing well and putting together a great match too.
West Point-Beemer just has to find that spark, something to ignite and get them going.
I feel like the Cadets have stumbled, been sluggish, and have simply come up short against the tough teams on their schedule.
That means West Point-Beemer simply has to step things up against Norfolk Catholic Thursday night.
The Cadets have a challenging schedule leading up to the East Husker Conference Tournament so West Point-Beemer has to step up their game.
The Cadets have three matches to up their level of play prior to the Conference Tournament.
West Point-Beemer is fully capable of doing it and getting the job done too they just have to put their minds to it.
The Cadets need better swings on the ball, and players like Swanson and Meiergerd have to step up and play big in these matches.
West Point-Beemer also needs Rainforth to set up some great hitting opportunities for hitters.
The Cadets have to become an even better team than what they've shown so far.
And that can happen if West Point-Beemer is able to upset the Knights Thursday night.
The Cadets have to believe it can happen because I feel West Point-Beemer has what it takes to win these types of matches.
