The Stanton Volleyball Team won 2-0 over Tekamah-Herman, but lost 2-0 to Oakland-Craig at the Oakland-Craig Triangular Tuesday night.
The Knights took set one 25-17 and set two 25-21.
Sylvia Cunningham had 7 kills while Jasmine Kment registered 17 digs. Morgan Remm added 7 set assists.
The Mustangs topped the Tigers 25-11 in set one, and 25-21 in set two.
Kment had 9 digs while Ellie Locke totaled 7. Emily Colwell notched 10 set assists while Remm had 7.
Not bad play from Stanton, but I thought the Mustangs could of been better in a couple of sets.
Stanton (12-9) takes on Wayne (19-4) on the road Thursday night.
The Blue Devils swept West Point-Beemer and Arlington 2-0 at their home Triangular Tuesday night.
Wayne is legit and the real deal, and it's not going to be easy for the Mustangs to go up there and win.
Stanton can definitely do it though.
If the Mustangs are to pull off the shocker they will need to play well in all sets.
I kind of thought the first set against Oakland-Craig and the second set against Tekamah-Herman could of been better for Stanton.
Not that those sets were bad, but just with it being Stanton I figured those two sets could of been more Mustang dominant I guess you could say.
Stanton has to go into Wayne with a great game plan and must be ready to play from the start.
The Mustangs need to come out and play well early and perhaps take a set to give themselves some confidence.
These girls have to play with confidence and a belief that they can win.
After all they are Stanton.
It just has to be a competitive mentality thing for the Mustangs.
Stanton has to expect to do well and dominate against everyone they play.
The Mustangs owned everyone for 5 years prior to this one, and need to get back to that if at all possible.
If anything it is a mentality thing for Stanton.
Even if it doesn't actually happen at least the thought, mentality, attitude, and effort is there from the Mustangs.
Stanton has to go into Wayne expecting to do well, compete, dominate, and win.
The Mustangs have to take the Blue Devils head on and with no fear.
Stanton has to be head strong to take on anyone, and must not back down from Wayne at all whatsoever.
