Emerson-Hubbard loses to Ponca and Wynot at Ponca Triangular

The Emerson-Hubbard Volleyball Team lost 2-0 to Ponca and Wynot at the Ponca Triangular Tuesday night.

The Pirates fell 25-5 in set one and 25-8 in set two to the Indians.

Katie Ahlers had 12 digs while Madison Gunderson notched 9. Brianna Bousquet added 7.

Emerson-Hubbard lost 25-10 in set one and 25-4 in set two to the Blue Devils.

Brynn Schock posted 9 digs.

A pair of difficult losses to two very good teams for the Pirates.

Emerson-Hubbard (0-13) hosts Pender (3-13) and Neligh-Oakdale (9-5) in a Triangular Thursday night.

The Pendragons lost 3-0 to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Tuesday night while the Warriors swept Bloomfield and Plainview 2-0 at the Bloomfield Triangular Tuesday night.

Pender beat the Pirates 2-0 at the Howells-Dodge Triangular on September 10th.

Emerson-Hubbard needs a win in the worst way Thursday night.

And perhaps it will happen too.

After all, the Pendragons are winless and haven't won a set since beating the Pirates.

If there's ever a time for Emerson-Hubbard to pick up their first win of the year now is the time.

This is it, this is now, and the Pirates need to come out and play with a sense of pride, purpose, and urgency against Pender.

Emerson-Hubbard needs to do the same against the Warriors, but have a better chance of beating the Pendragons, in my opinion.

Emerson-Hubbard still has plenty of chances to pick up a win this year, but the Pirates don't want to be remembered as the Emerson-Hubbard team that went winless in the program's final season.

The Pirates need to find a way to beat Pender, and if not the Pendragons then definitely Walthill on Tuesday.

Emerson-Hubbard has to rally around one another and come out and play the match of their lives Thursday night.

I feel like something is missing from the Pirates now, something positive, and that's a win.

It's always a great and incredible feeling when you win, and Emerson-Hubbard has to find a way to experience that again.

The last thing the Pirates want to do is go winless this season....nobody wants to see that happen.

So Emerson-Hubbard has to come out and find a way to win Thursday night, there's no other way to say it.

The Pirates desperately need a win and a great performance.

And you know what I think it can happen too as I don't feel Pender is playing as well now as they were when they beat Emerson-Hubbard earlier in the season.
