GACC loses at Hartington Cedar Catholic

The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Volleyball Team lost 3-1 at Hartington Cedar Catholic Thursday night.

The Trojans took set one 26-24 and set two 27-25, and won set four 25-13 after losing set three 29-27.

Evelyn Wooldrik totaled 13 kills while Sophia Hass had 12 kills and 12 digs. Brooklyn Bailey added 12 kills and 16 digs. Megan Plagge added 13 digs while Taylor Timmerman had 10. Hanna Knobbe notched 10 digs and 41 set assists while Meghan Brunsing recorded 8 digs.

Good effort by the Bluejays, but losing the close sets ultimately proved to be the difference.

GACC (9-7) takes on Battle Creek (21-2) on the road Tuesday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Bravettes won 2-0 over Boone Central/Newman Grove and Elgin Public/Pope John at the Cardinals' home Triangular Thursday night.

Battle Creek has been rolling all season, and doesn't figure to be easy to beat.

The Bluejays need to come out and play a great match Tuesday night in order to win.

If there's a team that can do it too it is GACC, but it won't be easy.

The Bravettes are the real deal, and going in and beating them on their home floor won't be easy by any stretch of the imagination.

I could see the Bluejays getting swept in this match, but I could also see them pushing Battle Creek.

I think GACC will be competitive and keep sets close at the very least.

The Bluejays have a tough week this week with the Wisner-Pilger Triangular against the Gators and Lutheran High Northeast coming up on Thursday as well.

We'll see what GACC is made of and what they can do this week.

The Bluejays have lost three out of their last four, and could really use some positive momentum right now.

GACC has to go out there and make something happen Tuesday night.

The Bluejays have to play fearless and unafraid of anyone or anything.

GACC has to play a great match and take it to Battle Creek.

The Bluejays have to get fired and jacked up and play out of their minds Tuesday night.

GACC has to play incredible Volleyball, and be on top of their game from the start.

The Bluejays have to turn in their best performance of the season to be able to pull out the victory.

It's going to take GACC's best effort for them to do well I don't think there's any doubt about that.

The Bluejays need to execute well in all facets of the game to have a chance in this one.

First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on the Bull.
