Tekamah-Herman goes 1-3 at East Husker Conference Tournament
The Tekamah-Herman Volleyball Team went 1-3 at the East Husker Conference Tournament, losing 2-0 to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy in the first round before downing Twin River 2-1 in the second round at Humphrey Thursday night. The Tigers then lost 2-0 to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder and Pender in Saturday's consolation matches in Pender.
Tekamah-Herman lost set one to the Bulldogs 25-17, and dropped set two 25-10.
The Titans took set one 25-19 before the Tigers won set two 25-18 and set three 25-23.
Tekamah-Herman lost sets one and two 25-19 to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.
The Pendragons took set one 25-23 and set two 25-13.
Nice win for the Tigers over Twin River.
Tekamah-Herman (3-25) plays host to Fremont Bergan (24-11) Tuesday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.
The Knights won 3-0 at home over Omaha Concordia Thursday night.
It doesn't figure to be an easy match for the Tigers to win, but I go back to last year when Tekamah-Herman upset Howells-Dodge at home.
The win came late in the year after the Jaguars had just beaten them.
Similar circumstances with the Tigers going up against a good D-1 foe.
I think the potential is there for Tekamah-Herman to win for that reason.
We had an upset last Tuesday on the Bull so why not another one this Tuesday night?
Anyone can be beaten on any given night, and the Tigers need to come out and play and perform well.
It's the last home match of the regular season for Tekamah-Herman, and the Tigers need to come out and have a good showing and play up to par.
It's also the last ever home match Senior Marissa Burt will play on Tekamah-Herman's home floor so her teammates have to rally around her and try and get a win.
The Tigers are definitely capable of picking up the big win they just have to go out there and be amazing.
Tekamah-Herman has to play smart and aggressive Volleyball and must serve and hit well in particular.
Getting to the ball quickly after it's served or hit and getting hands in position to send the ball back are both going to be very important things for the Tigers I feel.
Tekamah-Herman has to make good, sharp contact with the ball and their hits, and be tough at the net.
Blocking the ball down in bounds by getting hands up quickly is going to be big for the Tigers too I feel.
Tekamah-Herman has to play their guts and hearts out, and go out there and go after a win.
First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. on the Bull.
