Pretty solid play over the last 6 matches for the most part for Clarkson/Leigh.
The Patriots (13-8) take on Humphrey St. Francis (12-3) on the road Thursday night.
The Flyers swept Elgin Public/Pope John and St. Mary's 2-0 at the St. Mary's Triangular Tuesday night.
St. Francis also owns a win over C-1 power Wayne.
The Flyers also lost 3-1 to Mead, who also beat Clarkson/Leigh 2-0.
So I think the Patriots can go in there and compete and win this, but St. Francis is a very good team, and beating them on their home floor figures to be a very tall task.
Clarkson/Leigh is up for a great challenge I'm sure though, and so I look for the Patriots to hold their own.
Clarkson/Leigh plays a lot of tough teams and a challenging schedule as well so the Patriots have to find a way to come out and play well and compete hard once again Thursday night.
Clarkson/Leigh has to expect to win and beat the Flyers.
The Patriots can't come into this match thinking St. Francis is better and that they're going to lose.
Clarkson/Leigh has to be optimistic, and think positively heading into this match.
The Patriots also need to relax and have fun and a good time, and trust in one another.
Clarkson/Leigh has to enjoy and embrace the challenge of beating the Flyers on their home court.
St. Francis doesn't lose often, but the Patriots hope they beat them Thursday night.
Lots of key matches coming up this week and next for Clarkson/Leigh with the Wisner-Pilger Tournament on Saturday and the East Husker Conference Tournament beginning next Thursday.
So lots of opportunities for the Patriots to pick up some big wins and continue to prove themselves.
I think Clarkson/Leigh has already done a lot of that this year, but there are still more chances and more wins to be had if you are the Patriots.
Clarkson/Leigh has to find that extra gear Thursday night, and bring it against and take it to the Flyers.
A victory is very possible Thursday night, the Patriots just have to believe they can do it, and must go out there and get it.
