Pender drops matches to Oakland-Craig and Homer
The Pender Volleyball Team lost 3-0 at Oakland-Craig Thursday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull before falling 3-1 at home to Homer Tuesday night.
O-C took set one 25-15, set two 25-13, and set three 25-15.
Ashley Ostrand had 16 digs.
Homer won set one 25-23 and set two 25-22 before the Pendragons won set three 25-23. The Knights then took set four 25-13.
Ostrand finished with 12 kills and 21 digs while Trista Hansen had 13 digs. Zoey Lehmkuhl added 9 digs and 23 set assists while Isabelle Felber, Kirsten Frey, and Claire Felber notched 8 digs apiece.
I thought Pender played good against Homer.
The Pendragons (6-18) face off against Clarkson/Leigh (14-11) in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament at Stanton on Thursday at 4:30.
The Patriots went 0-3 at the Wisner-Pilger Tournament on Thursday.
Clarkson/Leigh swept Pender 3-0 at home earlier this season.
A tough, uphill battle type match for the Pendragons for sure, but Pender has to come into this match fearless and ready to go.
The Pendragons can't be scared of or back down from the Patriots whatsoever.
Pender has to go in there and fight hard and try and come away with the win.
The Pendragons have to play optimistic and be thinking upset.
Pender has to give it their all in this match the entire time, and never give up no matter what happens.
The Pendragons may be young, but they are very talented.
Pender is a work in progress, and has to keep finding ways to improve and get better.
Even if the Pendragons don't beat the Patriots they should be able to beat more than likely Madison in their second match of the night.
Pender just has to come out and play their game from start to finish, and take it to both opponents Thursday night.
The Pendragons have to have fun and enjoy the moment.
Pender has to rally around one another and inspire each other to be great.
The Pendragons have to kick things into high gear and find that extra gear prior to Thursday's match.
It's the East Husker Conference Tournament, and anything can happen.
Anyone can be beaten on any given night, and Pender has to believe, realize, and understand that.
No one thought BRLD would beat North Bend Central the other night, but they did.
There's a reason they play the games, and the Pendragons and Patriots are no exception Thursday night.
Pender has to believe they can pull and spring the upset because they are certainly capable of doing so, in my opinion.
