Tekamah-Herman loses final three matches of season

The Tekamah-Herman Volleyball Team lost 3-0 at home to Fremont Bergan last Tuesday night before falling 3-0 at Howells-Dodge Thursday night to end the regular season, and then lost 3-1 to Yutan in the C2-2 Sub-District Tournament at West Point-Beemer Monday night.

The Knights won sets one and two 25-11 and took set three 25-14.

The Jaguars took set one 25-16, set two 25-21, and set three 27-25.

The Tigers won set one over the Chieftains 25-23 before losing sets two and three 25-15, and set four 25-20.

I thought Tekamah-Herman fought very hard and valiantly all season long for only having 9 girls out for the team.

The Tigers conclude their year at 3-28.

Tekamah-Herman loses just one senior in Marissa Burt, who will be sorely missed for sure.

Not having Anna Wakehouse out for the team this year really hurt the Tigers without a doubt.

Key returners for next year include Elena Jetensky, Brynn Schmidt, Kennedy Pagels, Kaitlyn Quick, and Aubrynn Sheets.

There will only be one senior on next year's team too barring any transfers so the Tigers will be young still next season as they were really young this year.

The girls have to work really hard and really get after things this offseason.

Tekamah-Herman has a lot of work to do if they want to get back to where they were prior to last year.

This is a team with a lot of potential as they have won a lot of matches in past years.

The Tigers have to bring the lunch pail and come ready to work each and every day this offseason.

Tekamah-Herman has to take weight training, and open gyms, team and summer camps, and summer leagues seriously.

Everything the Tigers do should be done with maximum effort and nothing less.

These girls have to want to get better at the game and must have a burning passion for Volleyball.

The returning players and newcomers have to find a way to play as much Volleyball as possible, working it in around their other sports like Basketball and Track.

Volleyball has to matter to these girls, and they have to care about and have to want to get better at the sport.

I think they do and I think they will, but it takes a lot of hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and determination.

Being successful takes a lot of hard work and determination, but I know these girls can get there, there's no doubt about it in my mind.

They have to stick with it and keep working hard.
