Pender 0-4 in last four matches

The Pender Volleyball Team lost 2-0 to Howells-Dodge and Cedar Bluffs at the Cedar Bluffs Triangular Thursday night before losing 3-0 at home to Winside Monday night, and 3-0 at home to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Tuesday night.

The Pendragons lost set one to Cedar Bluffs 25-17, and dropped set two 25-19.

Ashley Ostrand had 7 kills and 16 digs while Zoey Lehmkuhl posted 13 digs and 7 set assists. Trista Hansen added 7 set assists.

Pender fell in set one 25-6 and set two 25-19 to the Jaguars.

Isabelle Felber had 9 digs while Lehmkuhl racked up 8.

The Pendragons lost set one to Winside 25-15, set two 25-16, and set three 25-23.

Ostrand recorded 15 digs while Lehmkuhl had 8 digs and 8 set assists.

The Bulldogs downed Pender 25-15 in set one, 25-22 in set two, and 25-16 in set three.

Olivia Nelson had 7 kills while Ostrand registered 16 digs. Felber and Lehmkuhl had 13 digs apiece while Joslynn Jewell totaled 8. Hansen added 7 set assists.

I thought the Pendragons played well at certain points of all matches, but just didn't play good enough Volleyball consistently to come away with any wins.

Pender (3-13) takes on Emerson-Hubbard (0-13) and Neligh-Oakdale (9-5) at the Emerson-Hubbard Triangular Thursday night.

The Pirates lost 2-0 to Ponca and Wynot at the Ponca Triangular Tuesday night while the Warriors won 2-0 over Bloomfield and Plainview at the Bloomfield Triangular Tuesday night.

I think the Pendragons have a very strong and good chance of beating Emerson-Hubbard, and anything can certainly happen against Neligh-Oakdale.

If Pender can play well in all sets against the Warriors they may have a chance to win the match or at least take a set.

Inconsistency has reared its ugly head on the Pendragons ever since Pender beat the Pirates 2-0 at the Howells-Dodge Triangular on September 10th.

The Pendragons have lost every match and every set since that time, and something needs to change and happen.

Perhaps a second win over Emerson-Hubbard will get things headed in the opposite direction of where they've been going the last few weeks.

Pender desperately needs something good to happen, a spark that sparks a winning streak.

The Pendragons have plenty of opportunities upcoming for wins so playing well against and beating the Pirates is very important, in my opinion.

Pender can't afford to falter against and definitely needs a big win over Emerson-Hubbard.

The Pendragons desperately need something to go their way.

The same could be said for the Pirates though as they haven't won a match yet this year, and just one set all season.

So honestly Emerson-Hubbard is probably in worse shape than Pender and needs a win in the worst way, but this is one the Pendragons can't afford to drop.

A loss to the Pirates would be a very tough pill to swallow and tough for Pender to take that's for sure.

So that's why Ostrand, Lehmkuhl, Hansen, and others need to continue to step up and contribute for the Pendragons.

Everyone's contributions matter and are critical I don't think there's any doubt about that.
