Pender sweeps Omaha Christian Academy, loses to Fremont Bergan in Sub-Districts

The Pender Volleyball Team saw their season come to an end Tuesday night, falling 3-0 to Fremont Bergan in the D1-1 Sub-District Final at Oakland-Craig. This came after the Pendragons swept Omaha Christian Academy 3-0 in Monday night's Semifinals.

The Pendragons downed the Eagles 25-8 in set one, 25-10 in set two, and 25-18 in set three.

Ashley Ostrand had 9 kills and 14 digs while Zoey Lehmkuhl totaled 7 ace serves, 11 digs, and 18 set assists. Alyssa Geisert had 8 digs while Claire and Isabelle Felber each notched 7.

The Knights topped Pender 25-10 in set one, 25-15 in set two, and 25-10 in set three.

Lehmkuhl posted 10 digs and 9 set assists while Isabelle Felber added 10 digs. Ostrand chipped in 8 digs.

A nice job by the Pendragons winning a Sub-District Match and getting to a Sub-District Final.

Pender wraps up their year at 9-22.

It may seem like this year was a struggle for the Pendragons, but I thought this team did a lot of nice things given how young they were.

I only look for Pender to be better in the future.

Statistical leaders Olivia Nelson led the way with 56 blocks this season.

Ostrand had 411 digs while Lehmkuhl posted 296 and Isabelle Felber 226.

Lehmkuhl also had 303 set assists for the season.

Pender doesn't graduate a single player.

The Pendragons should also have Caitlyn Heise back from injury next year.

I think Pender can be much improved and get to 15-20 wins at least next season.

It takes a lot of hard work and determination to get to the top though.

The Pendragons have to work very hard this offseason, and come ready to work each and every day.

Pender's returning players and newcomers have to take part in as many open gyms and summer camps and team camps and summer leagues as possible.

The Pendragons have to push themselves and see how far they can push their bodies.

Pender needs to put in a lot of hard work and long hours in the gym this offseason.

The Pendragons have to do whatever it takes to be great and successful.

I look for the Pendragons to have a really good offseason and comeback strong next year.

I think Lehmkuhl and Heise have a chance to have really good individual seasons for Pender.

The Pendragons have a lot of returning talent, and I'm very excited to see what this team can do next year.
