Good, tough, and strong play from the Jaguars in recent matches.
Howells-Dodge (18-12) battles Stanton (16-14) in the C2-5 Sub-District Semifinals at Norfolk Catholic Monday night.
The Mustangs lost 3-1 at home to Lutheran High Northeast Tuesday night to round out the regular season.
Stanton defeated the Jaguars 3-0 at home on October 8th.
Howells-Dodge probably needs to win this Sub-District to have any shot at making Sub-State.
The winner gets either Lutheran High Northeast or Clarkson/Leigh or Madison in Tuesday's Sub-District Final.
Playing the Eagles would be a big challenge, but the Jaguars have to focus on getting past the Mustangs first.
Stanton figures to be tough being a four-time defending State Qualifier and everything.
Howells-Dodge has a big challenge on their hands so massive preparation is key.
The Jaguars have to be ready to go mentally and physically Monday night.
This is the season for Howells-Dodge, and the last chance for a handful of these players to make a postseason run.
The Jaguars have to try and prolong their season as long as possible, and have it go past Monday.
Easier said than done though given how tough the Mustangs are.
Both teams have lost to some good teams here at the end of the regular season so we'll see which can team can come through after some tough losses.
I think what helps Howells-Dodge is they won their last regular season match, and Stanton has lost three in a row.
The Mustangs still figure to be an awfully tough out though so the Jaguars have to come out and turn in a stellar performance.
Monday night's match is scheduled to start at 6:15 p.m.
Tuesday's Sub-District Final will begin at 7:00 p.m.
