The Tekamah-Herman Volleyball Team lost 2-0 to Oakland-Craig and Stanton at the Oakland-Craig Triangular Tuesday night.
The Knights won set one 25-11 and set two 25-15.
The Mustangs took set one 25-11 and set two 25-21.
I thought the Tigers did well in set two against Stanton.
Tekamah-Herman (2-16) takes part in the Raymond Central Tournament on Saturday.
Other teams in the tournament include Nebraska City, Crete, and Fairbury.
Those are the three teams the Tigers played last year, and all have losing records.
Tekamah-Herman has to use these matches as a restarting point.
What I mean by that is the Tigers are far away from home at a neutral court with not a lot of pressure.
Tekamah-Herman can just go in there and play their game in front of what figures to be smaller crowds.
The Tigers have to use this tournament as a springboard to turn their season around.
I think Tekamah-Herman has a chance and can do well on Saturday and then on Tuesday against Pender before a tough slate of matches and the East Husker Conference Tournament.
It's really one of the final chances for the Tigers to get something going before season's end.
The only other real chance after this could be the postseason, but Tekamah-Herman doesn't want to have to wait until then.
It would be ideal if the Tigers could get something going this weekend and then again Tuesday night.
I feel like Tekamah-Herman has done some nice things and played well at times so far this year, but the Tigers have certainly had their struggles and tough go of things overall.
Perhaps this is the weekend Tekamah-Herman gets things turned around, we will see.
It's tough with only 9 girls out, but the Tigers have to find a will and a way.
Tekamah-Herman has to come out excited, motivated, and driven to play and do well on Saturday.
The Tigers have to create their own positive energy, enthusiasm, and momentum.
Tekamah-Herman has to execute in all facets of the game, and must pass, hit, block, serve, and serve receive well.
The Tigers have to minimize mistakes and errors, and not beat themselves.
Tekamah-Herman has to be ready to play good and effective Volleyball all day long no matter who they're up against.
