Really good Volleyball played by the Gators.
Wisner-Pilger (16-13) takes on Fort Calhoun (12-10) and Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (6-20) at the Fort Calhoun Triangular Thursday night.
The Pioneers swept Conestoga 3-0 at home Tuesday night while the Raiders lost 3-2 to Arlington Thursday night in the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament.
I feel like the Gators will beat LVSS, but the Fort Calhoun match could go either way.
I think that match really depends on which team shows up for both squads.
If Wisner-Pilger is on their game then they should have a great chance to win, but if Fort Calhoun is on it figures to be tough.
If the Gators aren't on and the Pioneers are off too then it could be interesting, and if one is on and the other is off then it figures to be a quick defeat for the struggling team.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is tough too though so Wisner-Pilger can't sleep on them.
I feel like both the Gators' matches have a chance to go 3 sets.
A Triangular win and sweep for Wisner-Pilger would be big heading into the postseason.
The Gators already have a lot of momentum coming into this Triangular, and could use leaving it with even more.
I don't think a loss to Fort Calhoun would necessarily hurt a lot, but two wins would feel better in my mind.
So Wisner-Pilger has to go out there and play well and play their game come Thursday night and see what happens.
The Gators have to play hard and smart and must expect to win, and have to continue to play in memory of the late Jean Groth, who passed away this past offseason at the age of 64.
