North Bend Central goes 2-2 in East Husker Conference Tournament, beats Howells-Dodge in final home match of season

The North Bend Central Volleyball Team swept Tekamah-Herman 2-0 and upset Oakland-Craig 2-1 at the East Husker Conference Tournament in Oakland Thursday night before falling 2-0 to Howells-Dodge in the Semifinals at Stanton on Saturday, and losing 2-0 to Pender in the 3rd place game. The Tigers then turned around and handed the Jaguars a 3-1 defeat in North Bend on Senior Night Tuesday night.

NBC beat Tekamah-Herman 25-19 in set one and 25-23 in set two.

The Tigers dropped set one to the Knights 25-23 before winning set two 27-25 and set three 26-24.

The Pendragons won set one 25-23 and set two 25-17.

On Saturday, the Jaguars won set one 25-17 and set two 25-21.

On Tuesday, the Tigers won set one 33-31 over the Jaguars before taking set two 25-18. Howells-Dodge took set three 25-16 before North Bend Central closed things out with a 25-23 set four victory.

Some good Volleyball played by the Tigers on Thursday and Tuesday.

North Bend Central (15-11) squares off with Columbus Lakeview (24-5) on the road Thursday night in the regular season finale.

The Viqueens swept Bishop Neumann and Omaha Concordia 2-0 at their home Triangular Tuesday night.

Lakeview is having a very nice and fine season, and is the only team to beat Lutheran High Northeast so far.

The Tigers definitely have their work cut out for them in this one.

The Viqueens play a tough schedule and some great competition.

North Bend Central is streaky, but when they're on they're very difficult to beat.

And if the Tigers are on on Thursday then they could definitely win.

If North Bend Central plays the way they did on Saturday though then it could be another setback.

The match will prepare the Tigers for the postseason if anything.

Lakeview is a really good team, and is the type of team NBC will need to beat in the postseason to make State and all that sort of thing.

The Tigers have to avoid coming out flat and must get off to a fast start.

North Bend Central has to build a lead and finish sets and go toe to toe with a great team and program in Lakeview.

The tricky part is the match is in Columbus, but that shouldn't phase a team like the Tigers.
