The Howells-Dodge Volleyball Team won 2-0 over David City Aquinas and 2-1 over Pender at the Clarkson/Leigh Tournament on Saturday before sweeping Stanton 3-0 at home Tuesday night.
The Jaguars downed the Monarchs 25-19 in set one and 25-23 in set two.
Grace Baumert had 15 kills while Ellie Baumert totaled 23 assists.
The Pendragons took the first set 25-19 before Howells-Dodge won the second set 25-15 and the third set 25-12.
Grace Baumert notched 12 kills while Carly Bayer added 7. Lexie Brester posted 29 assists.
The Jaguars topped the Mustangs 25-12, 25-11, and 25-14.
Grace Baumert notched 12 kills while Riley Pokorny registered 11 digs. Ellie Baumert dished out 19 assists.
Excellent play from Howells-Dodge.
The Jaguars (16-3) take on Twin River (0-12) and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (9-11) at the Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Triangular on Saturday.
The Titans have been off since September 19th due to COVID-19 issues.
The Bulldogs lost 2-0 to Oakland-Craig and Clarkson/Leigh but beat Cross County 2-0 at the Clarkson/Leigh Tournament.
I look for Howells-Dodge to sweep both matches.
The Jaguars have been playing great Volleyball all year, and I look for Howells-Dodge to keep the ball rolling on Saturday.
Howells-Dodge will be hosting on the first night of the East Husker Conference Tournament, and so I view these matches on Saturday as tune up for the Conference Tournament.
It's crazy to think that we are already near the end of the regular season and season for that matter.
Things have certainly gone by fast, and the State Tournament is less than a month away.
The Jaguars have to keep working hard and keep working towards a potential state berth.
State is definitely very possible and attainable for Howells-Dodge as there are a lot of good teams in our area this year.
We're getting down to the nitty gritty, the time of year when things really start to count.
This Howells-Dodge team has played good, consistent Volleyball all year long, and I look for that to continue as we get into the final stretch of the season.
