North Bend Central beats Tekamah-Herman, loses to BRLD

The North Bend Central Volleyball Team defeated Tekamah-Herman 3-0 on the road Thursday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull before losing 3-1 at home to BRLD Tuesday night.

Against Tekamah-Herman, NBC won set one 25-21, set two 25-20, and set three 25-11.

Tekamah-Herman scored the first point of each set, and in the first set tied things at 5, 6, and 8 before North Bend Central created some breathing room for themselves on their way to the set win.

Tekamah-Herman went up 3-1 in set two, but North Bend Central went up and once again proved to be too much.

Kaitlyn Emanuel had a match-high 13 kills.

The Wolverines won set one 28-26, set two 27-25, and set four 25-23 after losing set three 25-20.

Good, strong play from North Bend Central on Thursday, and some tough close set losses on Tuesday.

North Bend Central (12-9) and Tekamah-Herman (6-17) will meet again on Thursday in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament at Oakland-Craig at 6:00 p.m.

Tekamah-Herman fell 3-1 at home to Wisner-Pilger Tuesday night.

The winner gets Oakland-Craig at 7:00 p.m., and I look for North Bend Central to challenge the Knights should they beat Tekamah-Herman.

I think NBC will beat Tekamah-Herman again, but I could see Tekamah-Herman taking a set this time.

Things were close and tight in the first two sets the first time around, and I look for things to be that way once again come Thursday night.

North Bend Central has to regroup following the tough loss at home to BRLD.

That was a difficult loss to a good Wolverine squad.

NBC simply has to move on and forget about it and bounce back on Thursday though.

Oakland-Craig lost a tough five-set match at Fremont Bergan Tuesday night, and you can't win them all.

North Bend Central has to be focused and prepared to play Tekamah-Herman, and if they beat them then take on the Knights fearless and ready to win.
