West Point-Beemer splits Oakland-Craig Triangular

The West Point-Beemer Volleyball Team won 2-1 over DC West at Tuesday night's Oakland-Craig Triangular before losing 2-0 to the host Knights.

The Falcons won set one 26-24 before the Cadets took sets two and three 25-21 to win the match.

Jadyn Meiergerd had 13 kills and 14 digs while Sidney Swanson notched 11 kills. Rachel Groth added 10 while Reece Snodgrass registered 16 digs and 38 assists. Brooklyn Weddle posted 16 digs while Katie Rainforth notched 8.

Oakland-Craig won set one 25-19 and set two 25-23.

Weddle had 13 digs while Snodgrass tallied 7 digs and 14 assists.

West Point-Beemer (17-6) plays host to Malcolm (15-6) Thursday night.

The Clippers beat Weeping Water 3-0 on the road Tuesday night.

Malcolm beat North Bend Central 3-2 while the Cadets swept the Tigers.

If West Point-Beemer plays the way they have been pretty much all season then I think they will win.

Reason being I don't think the Clippers have played the schedule or caliber of opponents that the Cadets have.

I feel like West Point-Beemer has seen tougher competition than Malcolm has.

Add in the fact that the Cadets are at home and I think you have a recipe for a West Point-Beemer victory.

The Cadets have to step up and go out there and get it though.

West Point-Beemer has to recapture the magic they played with at the Elkhorn Valley Tournament against Battle Creek and Fremont Bergan.

If the Cadets played the way they did against those two foes then they should do well come Thursday night.
