Clarkson/Leigh goes 2-0 at home Tournament, splits Lutheran High Northeast Triangular

The Clarkson/Leigh Volleyball Team beat Pender and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 2-0 at their own Tournament on Saturday before defeating Shelby-Rising City 2-0, but losing 2-0 to Lutheran High Northeast at the Lutheran High Northeast Triangular Tuesday night.

The Patriots beat the Pendragons 25-19 in set one and 25-17 in set two.

Chloe Hanel had 7 kills while Kayden Schumacher notched 8 ace serves. Kennedy Settje totaled 9 digs while Makenna Held posted 10 assists.

Clarkson/Leigh downed the Bulldogs 25-15 in the opening set and 25-20 in the second set.

Hanel had 8 kills while Settje registered 11 digs. Kasik added 8 digs while Held registered 7 digs and 20 assists.

The Patriots knocked off the Huskies 25-13 in set one and 25-22 in set two.

The Eagles beat Clarkson/Leigh 25-12 in set one and 25-16 in set two.

The loss to LHNE shows just how great a team the Eagles are.

The Patriots (16-2) host Humphrey St. Francis (15-1) Thursday night.

The Flyers beat Elgin Public/Pope John and St. Mary's 2-0 at the Elgin Public/Pope John Triangular Tuesday night.

St. Francis has beat some top teams and teams in classes higher than themselves.

I think this match has a chance to go five sets.

I feel Clarkson/Leigh stands a good chance to win, but it won't be easy.

The Patriots have to forget about the loss to LHNE the other night, and regroup.

Clarkson/Leigh has to play the way they did against Fremont Bergan last Tuesday.

If the Patriots play like that I think they win.

Clarkson/Leigh can definitely do that too.

So I look for the Patriots to bounce back in a big way Thursday night and pick up a big win over a great Flyers squad.
