Oakland-Craig outlasts BRLD in 5 sets; goes 2-1 at Clarkson/Leigh Tournament

The Oakland-Craig Volleyball Team defeated BRLD 3-2 at home Thursday night before winning 2-1 over David City Aquinas and 2-0 over Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, but losing 2-0 to Bishop Neumann.

The Knights took set one from the Wolverines 25-15 before BRLD won set two 25-21. Oakland-Craig won set three 25-16 and then lost set four 25-23 before winning set five 15-8.

The Monarchs topped the Knights 25-13 in set one before O-C won set two 25-20 and set three 25-23.

The Knights won set one over the Bulldogs 25-14, and took set two 25-16.

Pretty good play overall from Oakland-Craig I would say.

The Knights (15-4) host DC West (12-6) and West Point-Beemer (16-5) in a Triangular Thursday night.

The Falcons won 3-1 at home over Fort Calhoun last Monday while the Cadets lost 2-0 to Wayne, but beat Arlington 2-0 at the Arlington Triangular Thursday night.

Oakland-Craig beat West Point-Beemer 2-1 at the Northeast Nebraska Classic on September 5th.

I would say the Knights and Cadets aren't playing quite as well as they were just a week or two ago.

I would say both have cooled off just a tad.

Still though this figures to be a very compelling and highly entertaining Triangular.

I think Oakland-Craig has a shot to win both matches and win this Triangular.

I feel the Cadets may go 1-1, and DC West 0-2.

It's really hard to say either way though as anything can happen.

The Knights have to come out and play a great match Tuesday night and defend their home court.

I think it's important for Oakland-Craig to be very successful in this Triangular given all what lies ahead here as we get to the home stretch of the season.
