The BRLD Volleyball Team lost 3-2 at Oakland-Craig last Thursday night before winning 3-0 at home over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Tuesday night.
The Knights took set one 25-15 before the Wolverines won set two 25-21. Oakland-Craig won set three 25-16 before BRLD claimed set four 25-23. The Knights won set five 15-8.
Caragan Tietz had 13 kills and 12 digs while Megan Beutler totaled 13 kills. Alyssa Buchholz added 10 kills and 17 digs while Aubrey Berg notched 21 digs. Kinlee Bacon tallied 11 digs and 16 assists while Brooklyn Nolting recorded 11 assists.
The Wolverines beat the Raiders 25-11 in set one, 25-12 in set two, and 25-17 in set three.
Good strong play in both matches for BRLD.
The Wolverines (15-9) take on North Bend Central (12-8) on the road Tuesday night.
NBC swept Tekamah-Herman 3-0 on the road Thursday night.
I think BRLD has a chance to be a major player and factor in next week's East Husker Conference Tournament.
The Wolverines get the winner of Madison and Twin River next Thursday and if they win that they would play West Point-Beemer.
The Cadets have struggled a bit lately, and I feel like BRLD could potentially upset West Point-Beemer should the two teams play one another.
A win over North Bend Central would help that cause too, in my opinion.
The Wolverines upset the Tigers at home last year in a match we had on 107.9 the Bull so it will be interesting to see what happens in this match.
It should be a great match that I feel has the potential to go five sets.
BRLD has to be hungry and excited about what lies ahead for them.
I really feel like the Wolverines have a chance to make a run here at the end of the season and be a true Darkhorse.
