The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Volleyball Team lost 2-0 to Lutheran High Northeast, but beat Wisner-Pilger 2-0 at their home Triangular Thursday night before beating Pierce 3-1 on the road Tuesday night.
The Eagles won set one 25-7 and set two 25-18.
Sophia Hass had 9 digs and 11 assists while Erica Engelmeyer notched 7 digs.
The Bluejays beat the Gators 25-20 in set one and 25-16 in set two.
Hass had 7 kills and 15 digs while Evelyn Wooldrik added 7 kills. Kelsy Steffen added 9 digs while Isabel Hass recorded 7. Megan Plagge dished out 17 assists.
GACC beat Pierce 25-17 in sets one and four and took set two 27-25 while losing set three 25-23.
Good wins for GACC over Wisner-Pilger and Pierce.
GACC (11-8) battles Crofton (10-12) on the road Thursday night.
The Warriors beat Wausa 2-0 at the Knox County Tournament in Creighton Tuesday night.
Based on results against common opponents I look for the Bluejays to either sweep this match or win it in four sets.
GACC could use another win heading into next week's Mid-State Conference Tournament.
I think the Bluejays have a chance to do very well in that tournament this year, but GACC has to play well Thursday night.
GACC played well on Tuesday and also played a good match against Wisner-Pilger.
The Bluejays should win again Thursday night.
GACC just has to go into Crofton and play their game and take care of business.
The Bluejays have to be consistent, and have to do what they do.
I look for GACC to do just that and win.
This Bluejay program is starting to get back to where it was, and I feel Thursday's match will be another positive step in the right direction for this team and program.
