The West Point-Beemer Volleyball Team went 2-1 at the Elkhorn Valley Tournament on Saturday, defeating Battle Creek and Fremont Bergan 2-1, but losing 2-0 to St. Paul in the Championship Game. The Cadets then won 2-0 over Arlington, but lost 2-0 to Wayne at the Arlington Triangular Tuesday night.
West Point-Beemer took sets one and three from the Braves 25-23, but lost set two 25-21.
Bergan won set one against the Cadets 25-16 before West Point-Beemer won set two 25-23 and set three 25-21.
The Wildcats won set one 25-20, and set two 25-12.
The Blue Devils claimed sets one and two 25-15.
The Cadets topped the Eagles 25-22 in set one and 25-16 in set two.
I thought West Point-Beemer played great on Saturday, but struggled a little bit on Tuesday. I think the St. Paul loss affected the Cadets a little bit.
West Point-Beemer (16-5) takes on Oakland-Craig (13-3) and DC West (12-6) Tuesday night.
The Knights beat BRLD in five sets at home Thursday night while the Falcons won 3-1 at home over Fort Calhoun Monday night.
This is going to be a difficult Triangular for the Cadets without a doubt.
West Point-Beemer should be fresh and well rested for this Triangular though.
The Cadets have to get back to playing the type of Volleyball they were prior to the second set of the Arlington match.
West Point-Beemer has to perform the way they did against the Bravettes and Knights.
The Cadets lost 2-1 to Oakland-Craig in the Northeast Nebraska Classic on September 5th so West Point-Beemer has their work cut out for them for sure.
The Cadets have gone into Oakland and won in Girls Basketball before though, and this is no different.
West Point-Beemer has to come into this one motivated and ready to go and play.
The Cadets have to be focused and must play with intensity.
West Point-Beemer has to swing the ball with authority, and play two great matches Tuesday night.
The Cadets are definitely capable of playing well and winning both matches too so we'll see if they can get the job done.
