Wisner-Pilger wins home Triangular over Stanton and Pender

The Wisner-Pilger Volleyball Team won 2-1 over Stanton and 2-0 over Pender at their home Triangular Tuesday night.

The Gators defeated the Pendragons 25-18 and 25-11.

Adi Meyer had 10 set assists.

Wisner-Pilger won set one over the Mustangs 25-20, and took set three 25-14 after losing set two 25-19.

Rachel Otten had 11 kills while Emily Buhrman totaled 16 digs. Aspin Waterman had 7 digs while Meyer notched 20 set assists.

Two really good and solid wins for the Gators.

Wisner-Pilger (8-3) hosts Battle Creek (13-1) and Crofton (7-7) in a Triangular Thursday night.

The Bravettes swept Neligh-Oakdale and Osmond 2-0 at their home Triangular Tuesday night while Crofton won 3-1 at Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Tuesday night.

Battle Creek is playing extremely well right now, and it's going to take an absolutely incredible and amazing match from the Gators to come out on top.

I don't anticipate Wisner-Pilger having a ton of trouble with Crofton though.

I think it helps the Gators that they're at home and are coming off a Triangular win.

That should be beneficial for Wisner-Pilger and allow them to play with a lot of confidence.

I think a win over the Bravettes would show the Gators that they can compete with and beat the best of the best.

I feel Battle Creek is a lot like what Stanton was the last four years prior to this year.

The Bravettes have kind of taken over as the dominant team in the Norfolk area in terms of C-1 and C-2 Volleyball although Norfolk Catholic is very good as well.

Wisner-Pilger is always good and solid though, and I fully expect the Gators to give Battle Creek a good and tough match at the very least.

I think Wisner-Pilger will at least compete with the Bravettes.

It's going to take something extra and extraordinary for the Gators to win, but anything is possible.

Any team can be beaten on any given day/night, and that includes Battle Creek.

Wisner-Pilger just has to believe and be confident that it can happen because it definitely can.

"The Swamp" is a tough place to play, in my opinion, and the Gators have made it that way.

Wisner-Pilger's crowd has to really get into it and be behind the team and be loud.

The Gator faithful has to be loud and proud, and must cheer on and will the team to a victory if at all possible.

Wisner-Pilger's student section also needs to be really into the matches as well.

It's another big night of Volleyball for the Gators, and Wisner-Pilger needs to come out and perform well and at a high level.
