Howells-Dodge sweeps home Triangular
The Howells-Dodge Volleyball Team won 2-0 over Pender and Emerson-Hubbard at their home Triangular Tuesday night.
The Jaguars defeated the Pirates 25-3 in set one and 25-11 in set two.
Taya VanLengen had 14 ace serves.
Howells-Dodge downed the Pendragons 25-22 in set one and 25-21 in set two.
VanLengen notched 7 kills and 7 digs while Alyssa Coufal posted 14 set assists.
Two good wins for the Jaguars.
Howells-Dodge (6-1) hosts their own Tournament on Saturday.
The Jaguars face off against Elgin Public/Pope John and others.
The Wolfpack is just 1-5 on the season coming in.
Elkhorn Valley and Shelby-Rising City are in this tournament too, and all three are below .500.
I feel the Huskies are going to be Howells-Dodge's toughest challenge and biggest hurdle on Saturday.
I think they'll challenge the Jaguars and make Howells-Dodge earn it.
With that said, I feel the Jaguars have a good chance to win this tournament given how they've performed so far this season.
Howells-Dodge has been very good since their opener having won 6 in a row.
That winning streak figures to be put to the test on Saturday, but there's no doubt the Jaguars can do well and win.
VanLengen has really stepped up for this team as has Coufal.
Howells-Dodge needs to keep getting good contributions from them, and others have to get back into the act as well.
The Jaguars simply have to keep doing what they've been doing and they figure to be just fine.
Howells-Dodge is a good team, and I look for them to continue to do well throughout the rest of the season.
This has been a great start for the Jaguars and they have to keep it going.
Howells-Dodge has to keep playing the game and doing things the right way.
The Jaguars have found different ways to win this season, and have come through in the clutch.
Howells-Dodge has found ways to win whether matches are close or not.
The Jaguars are winning some matches easily and others the hard way.
At the end of the day what matters is that you win, and Howells-Dodge has done that so far this season.
