West Point-Beemer goes 1-4 at Northeast Nebraska Classic; falls in five at Wisner-Pilger

The West Point-Beemer Volleyball Team went 1-4 at the Northeast Nebraska Classic last week, losing 2-1 to Wisner-Pilger and beating Wakefield-Allen 2-0 Thursday night before falling 2-1 to North Bend Central, and 2-0 to GACC and Oakland-Craig on Saturday. The Cadets then turned around and lost 3-2 at Wisner-Pilger Tuesday night.

West Point-Beemer defeated the Trojans 25-23 in set one, and 25-15 in set two.

Jadyn Meiergerd had 8 digs while Sidney Swanson had 7 digs and 10 set assists. Katie Rainforth added 7 set assists.

The Knights won set one 25-21 and set two 25-14.

The Cadets won set one over the Tigers 25-23 before NBC won set two 25-14 and set three 25-13.

I think the Cadets are playing well despite the fact they're losing. I think West Point-Beemer is a better team than what their record would indicate.

The Cadets (1-8) take on Schuyler (1-3) and Twin River (1-5) at the Twin River Triangular Thursday night.

The Warriors lost 3-0 at home to Lexington on Friday while the Titans were beat 2-0 by Logan View/Scribner-Snyder and Tekamah-Herman at the Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Triangular Tuesday night.

I look for West Point-Beemer to win both matches Thursday night.

The Cadets really need a couple of wins here too to get on track.

These are must win matches for West Point-Beemer,

Perhaps a couple of wins Thursday night will allow the Cadets to get on a roll.

This is a young team, and going on the road and picking up a couple of wins would be big.

West Point-Beemer has to learn how to win as so far they are losing the close matches.

There's no reason why the Cadets shouldn't win their next four matches.

West Point-Beemer should be 5-8 heading into their home Triangular with Logan View/Scribner-Snyder and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family in a couple of weeks.

As they say it's not how you start it's how you finish, and the Cadets have to right the ship and get on track Thursday night.

The Gators swept the Warriors so that should give West Point-Beemer confidence against Schuyler.

Twin River is also kind of down this year and in D-1 so the Cadets have to take advantage of that and use that to their advantage.

West Point-Beemer has to come out ready to play hard, and must take it to both teams.

The Cadets have to finish both matches, something they have struggled to do so far this year.

I have no doubt West Point-Beemer can and will finish the deal Thursday night.

I don't think the slow start and struggles will last any longer as I look for the Cadets to get on track and start winning matches over the next couple of weeks.

West Point-Beemer really needs to win these next four matches for confidence purposes at the very least.
