Stanton starts season 1-1

The Stanton Volleyball Team is 1-1 so far this season, losing 2-0 to Battle Creek, but beating West Point-Beemer 2-0 at their home Triangular Thursday night.

The Mustangs lost 25-21 in set one and 25-18 in set two to the Bravettes.

Emily Colwell and Morgan Remm had 9 set assists apiece.

Stanton won set one over the Cadets, 25-19, and took set two 25-22.

Jasmine Kment had 16 digs while Colwell posted 7 digs and 11 set assists. Remm added 9 set assists.

Not a bad start to the season for the Mustangs. Stanton appeared to play better against West Point-Beemer than they did against Battle Creek.

The Mustangs (1-1) take on Madison and Clarkson/Leigh (0-1) at the Clarkson/Leigh Triangular Thursday night.

The Patriots lost 3-2 at Howells-Dodge Tuesday night.

I feel Stanton has a very good chance to win both matches.

This is still a program and team with lots of pride, talent, and tradition.

The Mustangs appear to still be a pretty salty team despite graduating a loaded senior class.

Stanton is quietly finding their way and having success, and I look for that to continue Thursday night.

Clarkson/Leigh is young, but they'll still be tough.

The Mustangs have had the Patriots' number in recent years though, and so I give the mental edge and advantage to Stanton.

Clarkson/Leigh is at home though, and will come out and play hard and tough I am sure of that.

The Mustangs are going to need to play well and be on top of their game to come out on top in both matches, there's no doubt about it.

Stanton can't take either match off, and think they have it won before they even play.

The Mustangs have to get the same type of effort they got against the Cadets.

I feel Stanton is a team that will keep getting better and better as the year goes on, and feel they have the potential to play well Thursday night.

The Mustangs could really use a couple of wins too with the Columbus Scotus Invitational coming up on Saturday.

Stanton has to come out and play with fire, toughness, grit, passion, pride, and tenacity.

The Mustangs have to hit the ball with authority and be lethal with their attack.

Stanton has to continue to grow as a team and work together in these matches.

The Mustangs have to draw closer to one another as a team and as young ladies.

Stanton has to do things in this Triangular that will only benefit them and make them better heading into the rest of the season.
