Oakland-Craig wins season opener over Howells-Dodge
The Oakland-Craig Volleyball Team won 3-0 at Howells-Dodge to open up the season Thursday night.
The Knights took set one 25-19, set two 25-16, and set three 25-15.
Great win for Oakland-Craig, who handed Howells-Dodge their first and only loss of the season so far.
The Knights (1-0) take on Pender (0-0) in the Northeast Nebraska Classic in Pender Thursday night.
The Pendragons have yet to play a match this season, but if Oakland-Craig plays the way it did against the Jaguars you would think they stand a good chance to win again Thursday night.
I feel like the Knights are a much improved team from last year, and have a good chance to get back to their winning ways this year.
I think already having played a match and Pender not having played one is a definite advantage for Oakland-Craig.
The Knights have to come out and assert themselves early against a young Pendragon squad.
Oakland-Craig has to come out and try and intimidate Pender if at all possible.
The Knights can't make things easy on the Pendragons at anytime throughout the match.
Oakland-Craig has to get out to a lead, and continue to attack, attack, attack, and be relentless.
The Knights have to keep putting and pouring it on Pender.
Oakland-Craig wants to play Championship Volleyball without a doubt, and beating the Pendragons would be a positive step in the right direction towards making that happen.
This is a loaded tournament and tough conference, but the Knights are right up there with some of these juggernauts it appears.
Oakland-Craig is a veteran team, and that should really help them going up against a youthful Pender team.
The Pendragons are young as I mentioned before, and the Knights have to use that to their advantage.
Oakland-Craig has to try and get in Pender's head, and win not only the physical game, but the mental side of things as well.
This match is Oakland-Craig's for the taking, and the Knights have to come out and execute and play well.
Oakland-Craig has to come out and play up to and reach their full potential in this match.
The Knights' talents and abilities have to be on display in this one.
It has to be a complete match effort for Oakland-Craig.
