Howells-Dodge loses five-set thriller to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder

The Howells-Dodge Volleyball Team lost 3-2 at home to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Thursday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

It was a back and forth affair as the Raiders won set one 25-15 before the Jaguars took set two 25-13 only to see Logan View/Scribner-Snyder win set three 25-16 before Howells-Dodge bounced back to win set four 28-26 before the Raiders eventually won set five 15-9.

Riley Pokorny had 8 kills while Cassie Pieper totaled 11. Alyssa Coufal recorded 16 set assists while Lexie Brester notched 10.

Head Coach Taryn Janke's team was plagued with errors. "I mean that's been a struggle this year. We have moments where we roll and then we have moments where just the errors they kill us. We just have to somehow power through. And that's just a mindset too that we have to still get into."

The loss snapped a 10-game winning streak for the Jaguars.

Howells-Dodge (10-2) takes on Lutheran High Northeast (10-5) on the road Tuesday night.

The Eagles won 3-0 at home over Wayne Thursday night.

LHNE is battle tested and is going to be very difficult to beat.

The Eagles have played a very tough schedule and beaten some really good teams.

I don't feel the Jaguars have really been tested outside of a few matches.

Not that Howells-Dodge can't win Tuesday night, but Lutheran High Northeast is a very good Volleyball team.

I would argue that this is the best team the Jaguars have faced up to this point in the season.

Howells-Dodge is going to have to play a great match and then some to come away with the win.

The Jaguars can definitely do it too, but it won't be easy.

Howells-Dodge has to get after it on both sides of the net and play well.

The Jaguars have to play as hard as they can each and every single play.

Howells-Dodge has to also understand and realize the importance of every single play.

The Jaguars have to be focused and dialed in and in tune to everything that is going on during the course of the match.

Howells-Dodge has to be focused at all times against LHNE, and not get distracted or bothered by anything that goes on or transpires at any point in the match.

The Jaguars have to get fired up, and must play great Volleyball that is living up to their potential.

Howells-Dodge has to get over the loss to the Raiders. That was a hard fought loss.

The Jaguars now simply have to rally around each other and start a new winning streak.

Howells-Dodge is having a solid season, and has to give it their all and everything they got in this match like they have done the entire year so far.

The Jaguars have to go out there and show why they are 10-2, and that their start wasn't a fluke or anything like that.

Howells-Dodge has to step things up and play their best match of the year against the Eagles Tuesday night.
