BRLD goes 3-2 at Northeast Nebraska Classic before losing to Clarkson/Leigh

The BRLD Volleyball Team went 3-2 at the Northeast Nebraska Classic, falling 2-1 to GACC and 2-0 to Lutheran High Northeast Thursday night, before winning 2-0 over Pender, Tekamah-Herman, and Wakefield-Allen on Saturday. The Wolverines then lost 3-1 at Clarkson/Leigh Tuesday night.

BRLD took set one from the Bluejays 25-23 before GACC won set two 25-16 and set three 25-20.

The Eagles won sets one and two 25-18.

The Wolverines downed the Pendragons 25-23 in set one and 25-10 in set two.

BRLD knocked off the Tigers 25-19 in set one and 25-18 in set two.

The Trojans claimed set one 25-16 before the Wolverines won set two 25-8 and set three 25-11.

The Patriots took set one 25-21 before BRLD won set two 25-18. Clarkson/Leigh won set three 25-17 and set four 25-20.

Respectable start to the season for the Wolverines to say the least.

BRLD (5-3) takes part in the Wakefield Tournament Thursday through Saturday.

The Wolverines' first opponent is the host Trojans, who they take on at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Lots of good teams in this tournament so BRLD has to beat the teams they're supposed to and give the tough teams all they can handle.

I feel this tournament is a chance for the Wolverines to knock off some great teams and powerhouses.

So far BRLD has beaten the teams they were supposed to, but when it comes to the really good teams on the schedule they've faltered.

Lots of chances to right that ship and make amends this week and weekend though.

The Wolverines have to be ready to come out and play championship Volleyball.

BRLD has to dominate from start to finish, and knock off these good and tough teams.

I look for the Wolverines to come out and perform admirably in this tournament and do well.

BRLD has to use their defense to take them to new heights and must get the offense going as well.

The Wolverines need consistent play at the net and in the back row.

BRLD is a solid team that can be great if they figure out how to get over the hump against some of the great teams on their schedule.

The Wolverines have to keep doing what they're doing except just continue to get better and build on what they've already done.

BRLD has to crank up the intensity level and passion against these juggernauts this weekend.

The Wolverines have to play to the beat of the music, and give Ponca and others all they can handle in this tournament.

BRLD is off to a very solid start having a new coach and all they just need to take things to the next level this week if at all possible.

So lots of positives and good things going for the Wolverines right now, BRLD just needs to find a way to make it even better.

And they can definitely do that too, in my opinion, it just takes hard work and perseverance.
