BRLD goes 2-3 at Wakefield Tournament; swept at Fremont Bergan

The BRLD Volleyball Team went 2-3 at the Wakefield Tournament last week, losing 2-1 to Hartington Cedar Catholic before winning 2-1 over Wakefield-Allen last Thursday night. On Saturday, the Wolverines fell 2-0 to Lutheran High Northeast and Ponca, and won 2-0 over Pierce. BRLD lost 3-0 at Fremont Bergan Tuesday night.

The Wolverines lost set one to Cedar Catholic 25-15, won set two 25-17, and then dropped set three 25-23.

Caragan Tietz and Megan Beutler tallied 9 kills apiece while Alyssa Buchholz had 7. Kinlee Bacon added 23 set assists.

Wakefield-Allen won set one 25-15 before BRLD won the next two sets 25-13 and 25-22.

The Indians won set one 25-16 and set two 25-20.

The Wolverines took set one over the Bluejays 25-19, and set two 25-23.

The Knights took set one 25-10, set two 25-22, and set three 25-18.

The last few losses have been tough for BRLD, coming to really good teams.

The Wolverines (7-7) take part in the Tekamah-Herman Invite on Saturday.

Other teams in the tournament are Tekamah-Herman, Omaha Roncalli, and Fort Calhoun.

A chance for BRLD to pick up some more wins it appears.

The Tigers are struggling this year while the Crimson Pride is just 1-4. The Pioneers are having a similar season to what the Wolverines are having.

That's why I think BRLD has a chance to win this Invite.

The Wolverines have been sluggish and struggling lately though so BRLD needs to step up their game in order to do well on Saturday.

BRLD gave Cedar Catholic all they could handle and then some, and that's the level the Wolverines need to play at against tough teams.

If BRLD can get to playing the way they did in that match they can be even that much more successful, in my opinion.

The Wolverines have a chance to win some matches and become consistent in this Invite I feel.

BRLD has to step things up and play better than they have in their last three losses.

The Wolverines have done a lot of nice things this year, but have gone through their fair share of struggles too.

BRLD has to find ways to improve and play better Volleyball than they have as a whole this season.

I feel the Wolverines have kind of stayed the same in terms of winning and losing matches and by how much so far this year so gaining some consistency in their play and finding ways to make sets closer and also finding ways to win more matches would all be very good for BRLD.

I feel the Wolverines can get on track with this tournament and take some steps forward.

BRLD has lots of likely wins coming up, but also some toss up matches.

Becoming consistent with their play and playing at a high level could allow the Wolverines to get over the hump and win some of those toss up matches, in my opinion.

BRLD just has to focus on this weekend though.

The Wolverines have had a couple of days to digest Tuesday night's loss so hopefully they are ready to go by Saturday.

I fully expect BRLD to play well and have a good showing in this Invite.
