Pender loses to Wakefield-Allen, Triangular to Stanton and Wisner-Pilger
The Pender Volleyball Team lost 3-0 at home to Wakefield-Allen Thursday night and 2-0 to Stanton and Wisner-Pilger at the Wisner-Pilger Triangular Tuesday night.
The Pendragons lost set one to the Trojans 25-12, set two 25-18, and set three 26-24.
Zoey Lehmkuhl had 7 kills, 15 digs, and 8 set assists while Ashley Ostrand posted 20 digs. Claire and Isabelle Felber each had 8 digs.
Pender lost set one to the Gators 25-18, and dropped set two 25-11.
The Mustangs topped the Pendragons 25-14 in set one and 25-13 in set two.
Really tough stretch of play for Pender.
The Pendragons (3-9) take on Howells-Dodge (10-3) and Cedar Bluffs (4-1) at the Cedar Bluffs Triangular Thursday night.
The Jaguars lost 3-0 at Lutheran High Northeast Tuesday night while the Wildcats won 3-0 at St. Edward Thursday night.
Howells-Dodge beat Pender 2-0 at the Jaguars' home Triangular on September 10th.
I don't feel either opponent has played that tough a schedule despite their good records.
I think the Pendragons have played a tougher schedule than both Howells-Dodge and Cedar Bluffs.
I'm not saying that necessarily means Pender will win against either team, but I think it gives the Pendragons a better chance.
Pender has to come out and play well and expect to win.
The Pendragons have to take the fight to both opponents, and give it all they got Thursday night.
Pender has to find a way to play better and be more consistent.
I feel the Pendragons have to play their best Volleyball to come away with a win or two.
Pender has to play better than they did on Tuesday and Thursday if they hope to come out on top.
The Pendragons started out respectable, but have lost 6 in a row.
I think a lot of that is due to the competition they have faced, but at the same time don't feel Pender is playing as well as they were in the early season.
Case in point the Pendragons beat Wakefield-Allen 2-0 at the Northeast Nebraska Classic on September 7th and then lost 3-0 to them on Thursday.
So Pender has to find a way to get back to playing at the level and type of Volleyball they were prior to losing to Howells-Dodge in the Jaguars' Triangular on September 10th.
The Pendragons have been in sort of a slump and funk in their last 6 matches and need to snap out of it.
Pender is totally capable of doing so, but has to go out there and make it happen.
I feel this is the type of Triangular where the Pendragons can just go out there and play pressure free.
I say that because I don't feel Cedar Bluffs is all that tough of a place to play.
