Howells-Dodge wins own Tournament, defeats Wakefield-Allen

The Howells-Dodge Volleyball Team won their own tournament on Saturday, defeating Elkhorn Valley 2-1, and Elgin Public/Pope John and Shelby/Rising City 2-0 before winning 3-1 at Wakefield-Allen Tuesday night.

The Jaguars beat the Wolfpack 25-21 in set one and 25-23 in set two.

Taya VanLengen had 11 digs while Alyssa Coufal and Lexie Brester totaled 11 and 10 set assists, respectively.

Howells-Dodge won over the Falcons 25-19 in set one, and 25-15 in set three after losing set two 25-22.

The Jaguars defeated the Huskies 25-9 in set one and 26-24 in set two.

The Trojans won set one 25-23 before Howells-Dodge took set two 30-28, set three 27-25, and set four 25-22.

The Jaguars are playing really good Volleyball right now. All Howells-Dodge has done this year is win.

The Jaguars (10-1) host Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (6-7) Thursday night in action that can be aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Raiders won 3-0 at Pender Tuesday night.

LVSS had lost five in a row prior so I think Howells-Dodge is getting the Raiders at a good time.

The Jaguars have won 10 in a row and are rolling right now.

Howells-Dodge will definitely be challenged in this one though.

As much success as the Jaguars have had, they've played a lot of D-1 or D-2 Schools, and C-2 schools with losing records.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is a solid C-1 team, and will definitely be tough for Howells-Dodge.

The Jaguars have found ways to win the close matches this year though and I look for that to be the case once again Thursday night.

I have Howells-Dodge taking this one in five.

The match is in Dodge, and I feel the Jaguars have the advantage being at home.

That and Howells-Dodge has won 10 straight while LVSS just lost five in a row.

I wouldn't be shocked or surprised one bit if the Raiders won though.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is a good team, and will be no slouch coming into this one.

The Jaguars definitely have their work cut out for them Thursday night there's no doubt about that.

But I do look for Howells-Dodge to persevere and find a way to win.

If this match was at Logan View I would give the advantage to the Raiders, but it's at Howells-Dodge.

I look for both teams to really get after one another and make for a great and good solid match.

It should be a heck of a match and battle, and I'll be excited to see who comes out on top.

First serve from Dodge is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on the Bull.
