North Bend Central outlasts Oakland-Craig in five sets
The North Bend Central Volleyball Team won 3-2 at Oakland-Craig Tuesday night.
The Knights won set one 25-14 before the Tigers took set two 25-21. Oakland-Craig won set three by the same score before North Bend Central took set four 25-14 and set five 15-12.
Good, strong win for the Tigers. It goes to show what persevering and never giving up gets you.
North Bend Central (9-5) hosts West Point-Beemer (6-9) in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull Thursday night.
The Cadets lost 2-0 to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, but beat Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 2-1 at their home Triangular Tuesday night.
West Point-Beemer started the season 1-8, but has since won 5 out of their last 6.
I feel this is a different Cadet team than what they were at the start of the season.
West Point-Beemer beat North Bend Central last year for the first time in 10 years, and I'm sure that's something the Tigers have not forgotten.
You can bet North Bend Central will be anxious and hungry to start a new streak.
These two teams had some good battles in Girls Basketball last year as well so it's always a good battle when these two get together.
I expect nothing less than a great match on Thursday either.
I look for both teams to really get after one another and play well.
I think both teams are well coached and know what's expected of them.
I think the match has a chance to go 4, maybe even 5 sets Thursday night.
I feel the Tigers have a good chance to win being at home, but you never know.
North Bend Central has to come out and jump on West Point-Beemer early.
I feel the team that starts the match the best might have the best chance to win it.
I could also see both teams overcoming slow starts too if either of them starts slow.
I think the height advantage goes to the Tigers.
North Bend Central has some tall girls, and are at their best at the net without a doubt.
I look for Lauren Emanuel, Sydney Emanuel, Megan Ortmeier, and others to all have big matches for the Tigers.
I think North Bend Central has a fairly good chance to pick up another big win heading into the David City Invitational on Saturday.
First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on the Bull.
