West Point-Beemer beats Twin River and Schuyler at Twin River Triangular
The West Point-Beemer Volleyball Team swept Schuyler and Twin River 2-0 at the Twin River Triangular Thursday night.
The Cadets downed the Warriors 25-21 in set one and 25-10 in set two.
Jadyn Meiergerd had 9 kills and 7 digs while Rachel Groth posted 7 kills. Katie Rainforth had 12 set assists while Sidney Swanson notched 7.
West Point-Beemer defeated the Titans 25-22 in the first set and 25-14 in the second set.
Meiergerd had 11 kills and 8 digs while Brooklyn Weddle totaled 12 digs. Rainforth registered 9 digs and 14 set assists while Swanson recorded 10 set assists.
Two nice wins for the Cadets. I'm sure it felt great for West Point-Beemer to win.
The Cadets (3-8) host Tekamah-Herman (1-10) Tuesday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.
The Tigers lost 2-0 to Columbus Lakeview, Crofton, and Boone Central/Newman Grove at the Boone Central Invite on Saturday.
So Tekamah-Herman is coming off some tough losses while West Point-Beemer is coming off a couple of wins.
I give the edge to the Cadets for that reason.
I think West Point-Beemer will be too much being at home.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Cadets swept this one.
I feel West Point-Beemer will be hungry and motivated to pick up another win.
I look for the Cadets to come out aggressive and ready to take it to the Tigers.
West Point-Beemer has to try and wear down Tekamah-Herman seeing as the Tigers have only 9 girls out for the team.
The Cadets must outhustle, outwork, and outplay Tekamah-Herman.
West Point-Beemer has to want it more than the Tigers, and has to defend their home court.
The Cadets have to continue their winning ways, and build some more momentum.
It has been a struggle in the early season for West Point-Beemer, but I feel like the Cadets are starting to turn the corner.
I look for West Point-Beemer to do well Tuesday night.
The Cadets are at Madison on Thursday so I look for West Point-Beemer to pick up a couple of much needed wins this week.
If the Cadets play well this week I think it will allow them to be ready for next week's matches.
West Point-Beemer needs to win Tuesday and Thursday though.
If the Cadets don't win both matches this week it would have to be considered disappointing.
I think West Point-Beemer will come through and perform and do well though.
Tuesday's match is set to start at 5:45 p.m. on the Bull.
