West Point-Beemer goes 0-2 at DC West Triangular

The West Point-Beemer Volleyball Team finished winless at the DC West Triangular last Tuesday night, falling 2-0 to the host Falcons and Oakland-Craig.

The Cadets lost 25-16 in set one and 25-22 in set two to the Knights.

Sierra Kile had 10 digs and 17 set assists while Ashton Troyer notched 8 digs.

DC West topped West Point-Beemer 25-17 in the first set and 25-16 in the second set.

Sidney Swanson finished with 8 kills while Troyer and Brooklyn Weddle notched 14 and 12 digs, respectively. Kile dished out 14 set assists.

The Cadets have now lost four in a row and are just 3-8 in their last 11 matches. Not the right time of year to be struggling that's for sure.

West Point-Beemer (10-12) takes on North Bend Central in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament in Stanton Thursday evening.

The Cadets beat the Tigers 3-1 at home on September 20th.

I think West Point-Beemer has a good chance to win again despite their struggles.

The Cadets have had some time off to think about and work on things so that should help no doubt.

The winner gets Stanton later on in the night so that figures to be a daunting match for whoever wins between West Point-Beemer and North Bend Central.

I don't know if an EHC Tournament run is going to happen for the Cadets now, but perhaps West Point-Beemer can come out of this tournament with a couple of wins.

The Cadets need to use this tournament as a way to get back on track and play good Volleyball right before the regular season ends.

I think there's still time for West Point-Beemer to get back on track and make a postseason run.

I really think the Norfolk Catholic match kind of threw the Cadets off and through a loop, and I would imagine West Point-Beemer has recovered from that by now.

I don't think the Cadets had quite shook that off last week.

Now that time has passed and West Point-Beemer has had time to regroup I fully expect the Cadets to step up and play well in this tournament.

I don't know if the Mustangs can be touched by anyone in this tournament though, I really don't.

West Point-Beemer still has to play to win though and has to expect to beat North Bend Central first and foremost.

The Tigers will no doubt be hungry and anxious for payback given what happened and took place the last time the two teams met.

This match against North Bend Central is big in terms of the sub-district too.

If the Cadets can knock off the Tigers I think it will give them confidence that they can knock off anyone in the sub-district given how close the Logan View/Scribner-Snyder match was and all, and the fact West Point-Beemer has beat the other teams in the Sub-District at least once already in the regular season.

First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Stanton.
